I have always been intrigued by how things fit together – whether in construction, in nature, or in the way physics explains the world around us. That curiosity drew me into the ceilings and partitioning trade, where I have developed a passion for creating spaces that are both functional and enduring.
What excites me most about this industry is how every project tells its own story – from iconic commercial spaces to carefully detailed refurbishments – and the role our work plays in shaping environments where people live, work, and connect.
At Scheltema, my focus is on operational excellence: ensuring projects run smoothly, on time, and to the high standard of quality that the Scheltema name represents. I take pride in mentoring teams on site, problem-solving under pressure, and ensuring our clients’ expectations are not just met, but exceeded.
As an Operations Director at Scheltema, I now get to combine this passion with leadership. My role is all about keeping projects seamless, motivating teams, and giving our clients confidence that the end results will be something exceptional. It’s high-pressure work, but I thrive on the challenge.
What I value most is being part of a company with such a strong history in iconic builds across Cape Town and beyond, while also being excited about this new era – a younger, energetic team, guided by experience and driven to set fresh benchmarks. At Scheltema, our commitment remains unchanged: delivering world-class ceilings and partitioning solutions, supported by specialist knowledge, meticulous workmanship, and a team of professionals who care deeply about the spaces we help create.
Outside of work, I’m a husband and father of three. Family keeps me grounded and inspired, while passions like football, photography, and the beauty of nature remind me why attention to detail matters – both in life and in work.
Looking ahead, I am motivated by legacy: building spaces that people can enjoy, nurturing relationships, and shaping projects that South Africa can be proud of for decades to come.
